The 5-point checklist that gets local businesses recommended by AI
June 6, 2026
When someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation, it runs a quiet background check. Here's what it's looking for - and what to do about each one.
1. One name, one address, one phone - everywhere
Print your business name, address, and phone exactly the same way on your website, Google profile, Yelp, Facebook, and every directory. “Joe's Plumbing” and “Joes Plumbing LLC” look like two different companies to a machine.
2. A homepage that answers three questions in five seconds
What do you do? Where do you serve? How do I contact you? Plain words beat clever slogans.
3. An FAQ page in your customers' words
Write the questions people actually ask - “how much does a roof replacement cost?” - and answer plainly. AI apps quote pages like this constantly.
4. Structured business info on your site
A small block of code (schema) that tells AI apps your hours, services, and area in their native language. Invisible to humans, gold to machines. Any web person can add it in an hour - or our tool writes it for you.
5. Reviews the AI can find
Volume matters less than presence: a steady trickle of real reviews on profiles the AI reads. Ask every happy customer.
